Been Awhile..Time For a Facelift!
It’s been awhile since I posted on here. Life happened. But now I’m back and more determined to update regularly! My new life in New York is less than a week away, and I’m getting more and more excited as the countdown is coming to an end! I will be participating in a wonderful program called City Year. For those who are unfamiliar with the City Year, here is a brief explanation of the program: (source: CYNY Facebook Group)
City Year New York (CYNY) is a national not-for-profit organization that partners with the New York public schools to improve the chance that students will graduate from high school in neighborhoods where one out of every two students is at risk for dropping out. We have evidence that our programs are working.
City Year teams of high school graduates, college students and college graduates commit a year of their lives to serve full-time in the public schools. The teams provide critical services like tutoring and after-school programs, serve as role models and make the schools a more engaging place to learn. City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps.
